The Shimano Saragosa SW Spinning reels are saltwater reels made to be durable with new Oscillation System. These reels are water resistant and provide a comfortable drag. These reels are dedicated to the Blue Water angler, and are perfect to tackle the toughest species and conditions with elegance and power. These reels offer up to 44 pounds of drag to stop even the meanest offshore fish.
This is a gutsy and durable saltwater spinning reel family, now with substantial component upgrades, many of which are also found on the flagship Stella series. Featuring X-Ship encased in a hybrid aluminium and XT7 graphite body with an XGT7 rotor, the Saragosa SW delivers remarkable cranking power with less effort and a smoother feel. X-Shield and X-Protect keeps salt water out of key areas, while the Cross Carbon drag is also waterproof. In fact, it is capable of dialling up anywhere from 10 to 20 kilos of hurt on your quarry, depending on the reel model.

In the 6000HG model Shimano has incorporated top tier technologies, such as X-Protect, X-Ship, Hagane Body and Hagane gear into the reel body. The newly designed compact body has been engineered to improve the reel’s handling and balance. Drawing upon the Stella SWC, Infinity Drive is included and provides improved pinion gear support which translates to greater and smoother cranking power. The X-Protect water resistance system improves the line roller durability to an IPX8 standard. Built for big fish in extreme conditions, the Saragosa SWA will continue to push the boundaries.
In most European markets, the Saragosa 14000 and 25000 are used for Heavy Fishing techniques, targeting migratory and open sea species such as Tuna and Swordfish. In the Mediteranean except Popping from the boat, the 25000 size is the ultimate partner in Heavy Casting for Dentex, Grouper and Amberjack.
