Description
The 2023 further improved version of the legendary Daiwa BG SW reel comes with a full metal body and line up of models, to cover most Mediterranean, saltwater fishing styles.
Except the full metal body, the Daiwa BG is supported with various technologies, such as the large diameter Tough Digigear, with a screw-in handle for powerful winding.
They also feature the LC-ABS spool for trouble-free and increased casting distance. The EVA round knob will not slip from your palm, even when wet and makes it easy to apply force.
Daiwa Technologies
To survive in harsh environments, a reel needs a strong heart. The Daiwa «Tough Digigear» keeps the reels rotation smooth for a longer period of time.
The unique Arch shape of the bail arm, equally distributes the load on the rotor, achieving a significant weight reduction with the same strength. The shape of the Air Bail allows the braid to flow to the line roller and reduces braid entanglement problems. Furthermore, by making it hollow, Daiwa has accomplished a significant increase in strength without changing the weight. The rotors balance is also improved, resulting in a lighter rotation with good response. A mechanism applies a brake to the rotation of the rotor, when the bail is opened and prevents unexpected bail return caused by the shock of casting.
The LC-ABS spool, aims to reduce the contact resistance of ABSII, it achieves smoother line release by making the contact point protrude forward. It becomes difficult for the line to ride on the ring and the casting distance has increased, compared to the conventional ABSII, improving trouble-free performance.
The ATD is a new generation drag system, that operates smoothly according to the fighting strength of the fish and continues to work smoothly during the fight, allowing the angler to concentrate on fighting, without worrying about drag settings. The BG SW has carbon drag washers, with improved Max drag force and the ability to withstand the sprinting of large fish. In addition, a large drag knob is used to achieve comfort.

Technical Characteristics
Model 4000D-CXH – Particularly recommended for Light Shore Jigging using PE 1 – 1.5 and Light Offshore Jigging using Light Jigging rods. Also recommended for vertical fishing styles.
Model 5000D-CXH This is the «standard» 5000D-CXH reel for Light Shore Jigging. Particularly recommended for shore Bluefish casting games using PE1.5 – PE2.0 Also ideal for vertical fishing from the boat.
Model 6000D-H Ideal Daiwa reel for inshore Bluefish casting games and offshore Jigging & Casting games using PE 2 – 3. This item combines strength and lightness, making it ideal for targeting Pelagic species up to 5kg, but can also handle unexpected predators in the range of up to 10kg.
